Emotional Resilience
Why do some people seem to bounce back, when others can't?

Research has shown that, in any population, about 30 % will have the ability
to manage and overcome hardships and trauma.  This ability is called
Emotional Resilience.

Research also shows that, while we are born with differing amounts of
natural resilience, it is also affected by our experiences, our support
networks, our beliefs, and our ability to manage our emotions.

The knowledge we now have tells us how we can behave to develop
resilience in our children and young people.  Fortunately, we can also learn
to improve our own resilience, as adults.

In teaching about Emotional Resilience, I use the "I have-I am- I can" model
developed by the
International Resilience Project
Emotional Resilience
My aim is to work with
you to offer a service
which meets your needs,
whatever your age, sex,
ethnic background and
culture, and abilities.  I
can offer meetings in a
wheelchair- accessible
location.
